The challenge
A supermarket or hypermarket produces biowaste on a daily basis: damaged fruit and vegetables, unsold bakery or deli items, products pulled once past their date. Source-sorting biowaste is a legal obligation for any professional that produces it, and storing it between collections quickly becomes a space and odor problem, especially in the stockroom.
The GEB approach
Installed directly in the stockroom or sorting area, a GEB dehydrator treats this waste on site, as it's produced. Volume and weight are reduced by 80 to 90%, cutting the number of collection pickups needed. The dry residue no longer carries the odor of raw biowaste, and feeds into a recovery stream that meets regulatory requirements.
